History of Ichapur Union

The Ichapur Union was formed in 1955 under the first Chowdhury under the British rule with a total of 9 villages. At that time the chairman of the union council was called the village president. During the rule of Pakistan in 1956, the post of village president was declared the post of union chairman. At present Ichapur Union Parishad consists of a few small and big villages.

It is rumored that most of the villages were previously dominated by Hindu zamindars. At that time boats and bullock carts were the only means of communication in Ichapur Union.
